Study in C - Fernando Sor This gorgeous little study is an example of Sor's genius in writing simple pieces that yet contain a great deal of musical appeal. When opening the NWC file, you'll see a single staff, as might be expected for guitar music (actually two layered staves). However, this staff is muted, and is essentially only there for scoring purposes. Rather, each string of the guitar is treated as a separate instrument, and is assigned its own staff and midi channel. The result is, I think you'll agree, a very faithful midi "performance" the likes of which would have been impossible on a single channel. The remaining staves can, of course be "unhidden" so you can see what was done here. A midi file was also provided, exported from the six "sounding" staves, for those without NWC. Be forewarned if you try to import the midi file into a sequencer program - the result will not be anything like what you'd expect! Bars 31 and 32 (the first ending in the repeat) were added by yours truly. Why? Well, they just felt like they belonged... if you don't like them, feel free to delete them to restore Sor's original.
